Introduction to natural dyes is a workshop about the history, chemistry, language, and feasibility of natural colors in our lifestyle. It has three levels, depending on your curiosity and your need to dive deep into the subject.
DIY Kit-Beginner Level- This can be done by a DIY kit with brief literature, a video tutorial, and a hands-on exercise to understand the introductory chemistry and fundamentals of natural dyeing.
Online/ Intermediate Level-This is an online workshop (2 sessions:40 minutes each) that once purchased, can be scheduled according to your time and mutual convenience. It covers the history of natural dyeing, sources, foraging, testing what is a stain or dye, understanding of the role of fabric types, and some reading materials.
Offline/ Advanced Level-This is more customized to your needs and conducted at our center in ColorAshram as an offline workshop (3 days- 2 hours per day or you can do longer hours and less days). It is good for people who are researching or doing a thesis on the topic of natural dyes. We also explore pollution problems due to synthetic toxic dyes, feasibility analysis, application possibilities, lead and delivery issues of natural dyeing, consumer education, and market growth in this field. Also good for a brand and its team who are thinking of entering this area of work.
